Sam grew up as the youngest of a musical family in the woods west of Madison, Wisconsin. He started out on piano, has played trumpet and tuba, but settled in on guitar when he was 8. He quickly developed into an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter who has performed on NPR (at just 16), and throughout the Midwest including Milwaukee's Summerfest, The Pabst Theater, and the Isthmus Jazz Fest. He has won several awards including 10 MAMA’s (Madison Area Music Awards). Sam currently lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and performs with cult favorite Brett Newski.
